Steffen Berger, Robert Haser, Daniel Vogler, Jonathan Martin

Elfershausen, 07.02.2024 – The employer rating platform kununu honors ZMI GmbH as Top Company 2024. The award is based on the independent assessments of employees on the platform. ZMI, as an established solution provider for human resources and security, is therefore one of the companies with the best working environment in Germany.

“We are delighted that ZMI has been named one of Germany’s top employers again this year after 2022 and 2023. The award is confirmation of our commitment and efforts to create an attractive working environment for our team,” said CEOs Steffen Berger, Jonathan Martin and Daniel Vogler. The outstanding features that distinguish ZMI as a top company include flexible working hours with mobile working in the EU, attractive salary and benefits packages and a wide range of further educational opportunities.

Robert Haser, Head of People & Sourcing at ZMI GmbH since 01.01.2024, adds: “We are in constant communication with our employees, derive initiatives and implement them successfully.” ZMI is currently looking for additional employees throughout Germany who would like to develop their skills in an exciting and innovative working environment in the field of HR software. The company is also offering several apprenticeships at its headquarters in Elfershausen for the 2024 apprenticeship year. The job offers as well as further information about ZMI can be found on the career portal at https://zmi.de/karriere/.

“We congratulate ZMI on receiving the Top Company Seal 2024,” says Nina Zimmermann, CEO of kununu. “The award is presented to employers with particularly good ratings on kununu. As only around five percent of companies meet the qualification criteria, this is a very exclusive group. Employers who are awarded with the seal are not only characterized by recognition and appreciation, but also send a strong signal to talented people who are looking for the right company,” Zimmermann continues.

ZMI has developed into a leading solution provider in the fields of human resources and security. The portfolio includes industry-neutral software, hardware terminals and mobile apps for personnel time recording, new work and employee self services, digital personnel files, personnel resource planning, order and project time recording, and access control. ZMI supports the Afrika Rise Project

ZMI unterstützt das Afrika Rise Project

Reutlingen/Elfershausen, 31.07.2023 – ZMI GmbH, provider of HR software, is supporting the Afrika Rise Project and making a donation of €3,000 for the construction of a vocational education center for climate protection and sustainable development in Uganda. John Lwanga, founder and chairman of the Afrika Rise e.V. association and singer of the reggae, hip-hop and salsa combo “Culcha Candela”, accepted the donation from Jonathan Martin and Daniel Vogler, CEOs of ZMI GmbH, following a concert by the band in Reutlingen.

“Afrika Rise’s initiative to establish a vocational education center for climate protection and sustainability makes an important contribution to the training of specialized professionals and the reforestation of renewable resources in Uganda. The key resource for combating climate change is a global network of knowledge and skills,” say Daniel Vogler and Jonathan Martin. John Lwanga adds: “There will be as much new construction in Africa in the next 10 years as in Europe in the past 100 years. How this growth actually takes shape will have a decisive impact on climate protection and the future.”

The first of the three construction phases of the education center is scheduled to begin as early as September 2023 to enable school to start on the new campus in January 2024. In the two subsequent phases, the college’s trainees are actively involved in the construction work in order to learn methods of ecological construction using practical examples. In the course of this, a platform is also to be created to network ecologically oriented companies in Uganda and Germany, to promote their growth and to enable new perspectives for a sustainable future on an equal footing with all those involved.

About Afrika Rise e.V.

Over the last 15 years, a comprehensively networked vocational school for craft training has already been established in Uganda: The Buwere Vocational College. Trades such as tailor, mechanic, mason, plumber and electrician can be learned here. In this way, the initiative promotes economic prospects for the rural population and helps young people in rural areas to build a better future for themselves. Easily retrieve electronic certificates of incapacity for work (eAU) digitally with ZMI

ZMI - eAU: elektronische Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigungen digital abrufen

Elfershausen, 02.03.2023 – ZMI is now providing an interface between time recording and statutory health insurance (SHI) to digitally retrieve certificates of incapacity for work. The ZMI – eAU module has been tested and approved by the Information Technology Service Center of the Statutory Health Insurance (ITSG).

Since January 2023, the use of the electronic certificate of incapacity for work (eAU) has been mandatory for employers. The eAU is issued to employees who are unable to work by their attending physician participating in the eAU procedure. The eAU replaces the previous paper certificate and is transmitted digitally by the doctor to the responsible health insurance fund or the GKV server. Sick employees then report sick to their employer company so that it can send an eAU request to the GKV server.

“With our new ZMI – eAU solution, our users in HR departments are able to digitally query the statutory health insurance provider about the incapacity to work of their employees with statutory health insurance directly from the digital time recording system. As the employees’ HR master data is already available in the time recording system anyway, there is no need for time-consuming double entry,” explains Steffen Berger, Managing Partner of ZMI GmbH.

Particularly if payroll accounting is outsourced to an external body, such as a tax office, the sickness notification process with connected eAU query is much leaner and possible without media disruptions. The days of absence in the payroll period can then be transferred to the payroll accounting software (such as DATEV) via a digital interface, together with other gross wage data from the digital time recording system.

ZMI has become a leading solution provider for HR, organization and security. The portfolio includes industry-neutral software, hardware terminals and mobile apps for personnel time recording, new work and employee self services, digital personnel files, personnel resource planning, order and project time recording, and access control. Digitizing HR holistically: ZMI and perview systems establish new cooperation

HR ganzheitlich digitalisieren: ZMI und perview systems gehen neue Kooperation ein

Hamburg/Elfershausen, 25.10.2022 – Time recording made easy: In the future, customers of perview and ZMI will benefit from the new partnership between the two software providers.

Since 13.09.2022, there is a new legal situation in Germany regarding the recording of working hours. As a result of a ruling by the Federal Labor Court in Erfurt, proper time recording becomes mandatory for employers. What can be implemented comparatively easily in traditional operations certainly poses challenges for operations in modern scenarios. How, for example, can time recording be done for employees who work in the home office on a partial or full time basis? For such situations, ZMI offers the right solution. Working time recording is no longer thought of as stationary, but flexible. Documentation can be done on the spot, but also online – via the web or in the company’s own app. This makes it easy for companies to comply with their new obligations.

In addition to the changed legal framework, there is another aspect that speaks in favor of digital management of working hours: The reason lies primarily in the scarcity of working time. It is a precious resource in many companies today. The existing pool of employees can only offer a certain amount of working time, and a fierce competition for talent has already begun. In order to still be able to manage large projects and build the foundation for future success with continuous development as a company, other strategies are needed. With the perview suite, companies in all industries can take countermeasures. Each module of the suite optimizes a task area of talent and personnel management. In this way, time can be saved in many cases, while at the same time the quality of the results can be increased even further thanks to the software support. The idea behind it: Time wasters are avoided Employees can focus their scarce time on the tasks where it offers the greatest added value to the company.

With ZMI, perview gains a partner that has long been established in the field of time recording, access control and organization. Hendrik Antz, Managing Director at perview systems, is therefore certain: “Both companies complement each other perfectly. We are at the beginning of a partnership that will open up many synergies for both our customers and both companies and has the potential to drive future developments even faster.”

A high degree of integration will allow users to benefit from the advantages of both systems. “Many companies and organizations are still in the early stages of digitizing their HR. At the same time, the shortage of skilled workers and the growing demand for flexible working models are resulting in increased pressure to act. The solutions from ZMI and perview can therefore offer tangible added value in their combination through a holistic approach,” adds Daniel Vogler, Managing Partner of ZMI GmbH.

About perview systems

For over 15 years, the company has positioned itself as a strong partner in the HR sector for medium-sized companies in the DACH region. Innovativeness, competence and helpfulness are the three decisive characteristics with which perview convinces its customers in the Talent Management Suite, which now comprises twelve modules.

perview has a strong focus on the needs of the HR target group and is convinced that people should be at the center of every company and organization – especially when it comes to digitization. Only in this way is it possible for HR management to meet the individual expectations of the workforce with a completely new quality through the use of perview.

Digital control of COVID-19 detection with ZMI

Digital control of COVID-19 detection with ZMI

Elfershausen, 20.01.2022 – In its new release 6.4, ZMI offers the possibility to digitally control EU COVID-19 proofs of employees. Employees use the ZMI app for iOS and Android™ to scan their vaccination records, proof of convalescence or test certificates regardless of their location and thus transmit the current 3G record to their employer. Thus, the verification and control obligation pursuant to § 28b (1) and (3) Infection Protection Act (IfSG) can be mapped completely digitally.

“By integrating it with digital time recording, companies and organizations do not need a separate system and at the same time can also access a comprehensive notification management system consisting of e-mail, SMS and push notifications if, for example, the necessary proof has not been provided on time,” says managing partner Steffen Berger. A role-based authorization concept also ensures that only authorized persons can access the 3G verification documentation.

Current information about the log4j security message of the BSI

The ZMI solutions - especially of the WebClient - do not use logging based on "log4j".

Over the weekend, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) reported a security vulnerability in the log4j software library, which is used for numerous Java applications. The criticality of this vulnerability was rated as very high. We have analyzed the issue for the ZMI programs (especially ZMI – WebClient) and came to the conclusion that they do not use logging based on “log4j”. With regard to third-party applications, we are in close consultation with the respective manufacturers and will – if necessary – provide further information at this point.
