Challenges
Logistics companies face the daily challenge of efficiently coordinating personnel, vehicles and operations. Employees work in the warehouse, in handling, in the office or on the road in transportation – often in shifts and at different locations. At the same time, working hours must be fully documented, legal requirements must be adhered to and changes at short notice must be implemented flexibly. Without digital processes, media disruptions, inaccurate time records and high administrative costs quickly arise.
The right solution for logistics and transportation
Time tracking with terminals, app & web
ZMI enables working times to be recorded directly in the warehouse, at the transshipment point, in the office or on the move. Stationary terminals ensure reliable recording on site, while the ZMI – App is ideal for drivers and mobile employees in transport. This means that all times are recorded centrally and in real time – regardless of where they are used.
ZMI - Planner: Digital resource and shift planning
With the ZMI – Planner, you can plan staff efficiently according to shifts, locations or assignments. Whether warehouse staff, dispatchers or drivers – all resources can be clearly coordinated. Overstaffing and understaffing are recognized at an early stage and can be compensated for directly.
Transparency for mobile employees
In the transport and traffic sector in particular, it is crucial to keep track of things while on the move. With mobile time tracking, employees record their times directly on the job. At the same time, scheduling and administration have access to up-to-date data at all times – for maximum transparency and quick decisions.
Digital sick notes with eAU
With the integrated eAU, sick notes are processed automatically and digitally. Absences are immediately visible and can be taken into account directly in shift planning – without additional administrative effort.
Access control for locations and storage areas
With ZMI access control, storage areas, transshipment points, offices or technical areas can be specifically secured. Access rights are assigned based on role and location, so that only authorized persons are granted access – an important factor for security and compliance in logistics.
Payroll interfaces & reporting
The recorded times are automatically transferred to common payroll systems such as DATEV, Sage, HS – Hamburger Software, Lexware, VOCUS or SAP. Comprehensive evaluations provide insights into working times, shift distribution and shift planning – ideal for scheduling, HR and controlling.
Why ZMI is a particularly good fit for logistics:
Logistics companies combine stationary and mobile workstations, changing locations and high demands on planning and transparency. ZMI connects all areas in one system and ensures clear processes – from the warehouse to the road.
- Time tracking for stationary and mobile employees: Working times are recorded both via terminals in the warehouse and mobile in transportation - centrally and across locations.
- Flexible shift planning for dynamic processes: shifts, tours and assignments can be planned efficiently and adapted quickly in the event of changes.
- Secure locations thanks to access control: Warehouses, transshipment points and sensitive areas are reliably protected - with clearly defined access rights.
- Transparent evaluations for scheduling and controlling: all times and assignments can be evaluated centrally and provide a sound basis for planning and control.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to your most important questions
How does time tracking work for drivers and warehouse staff?
With ZMI, drivers and warehouse staff record their working times on the move with the ZMI – App or at the terminal – regardless of where they are working. Even without an internet connection, times are saved in the mobile app and synchronized later. GPS location data can optionally be combined with working time recording, and all settings can be configured in compliance with the GDPR. The result is a robust and flexible time tracking system for logistics.
How does ZMI support deployment planning in logistics?
With the ZMI – Planner, shifts, tours and assignments can be planned centrally and flexibly adapted.
How can time tracking be integrated into existing logistics or ERP systems?
ZMI’s time tracking system can be easily integrated into existing ERP, HR and logistics systems via open interfaces (e.g. REST API). Working time data can be easily processed further, for example for payroll accounting or planning. This reduces manual effort, avoids errors and ensures end-to-end digital processes.
How can shift work and overtime in logistics be recorded correctly?
ZMI maps shift work and overtime within the software based on rules. Bonuses for night work, Sundays and public holidays are calculated, while overtime is recorded transparently in time accounts. At the same time, the system ensures compliance with legal requirements and creates full transparency for companies and employees.
How is security guaranteed at locations?
With ZMI – Zutritt, access rights can be individually defined and all accesses documented in a traceable manner.
