Challenges
Breweries face particular challenges when it comes to the digitalization of working time recording. Different areas such as production, warehouse, logistics, field service and administration often have their own rules for shifts and working hours. Historic buildings make it difficult to introduce modern access systems, and digital HR solutions have not yet been established in many companies. Paper lists or informal channels such as WhatsApp are still frequently used. At the same time, collective agreements with special regulations, such as in-house drinking or substitute rest days, make personnel planning complex. Added to this is the legal pressure of mandatory working time recording and IT security requirements within the framework of KRITIS, which present an additional challenge for many breweries.
How ZMI digitizes your brewery
Seamless integration
ZMI can be flexibly connected to existing ERP systems and enables data to be recorded via terminal, web or mobile app. This means that all areas – from production and field service to administration – can be mapped in one system.
Digital staff scheduling
Complex models with qualifications, minimum staffing levels or special regulations are mapped transparently and can be planned with just a few clicks. This reduces errors, increases planning quality and saves a lot of time.
User-friendliness for all employees
The intuitive interface makes it easy to use ZMI in all departments – even for employees with no prior IT knowledge. Whether in bottling, in the warehouse or in the field: ZMI ensures simple and reliable use.
Access and access management
With ZMI’s detailed assignment of rights and roles, you retain full control over who can see which information and access which areas. Individual user rights ensure clear responsibilities and guarantee data protection and process security in all departments. In addition, the integrated access control offers the option of protecting sensitive production or storage areas in a targeted manner. ZMI therefore not only meets IT and data security requirements, but also actively supports breweries in complying with KRITIS and food defense regulations– for maximum security in the food sector.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to your most important questions
Is the solution also suitable for older buildings without modern infrastructure?
Yes – even breweries with historical facilities or little technical infrastructure benefit from ZMI. Our solution supports stationary terminals with connection via LAN, W-LAN or LTE/4G, mobile apps as well as offline-capable devices, so that times can also be recorded when the network is weak or no modern IT installation is available. The system can be introduced gradually and adapted to your existing building situation.
How are shift models with special regulations mapped?
ZMI enables the flexible mapping of classic and complex working time and shift models. Flexitime, night or weekend bonuses, changing work locations and special regulations, such as substitute rest days, can be stored in the working time models and are automatically taken into account in the time evaluation. This keeps your brewery operations efficient, plannable and legally compliant.
Does ZMI meet the requirements for KRITIS?
ZMI offers modules for access and security systems (e.g. ZMI – Zutritt) with online and offline capability, logging and authorization management. ZMI thus supports breweries, which are considered critical infrastructure according to KRITIS, in the implementation of access, control and documentation requirements. We are happy to recommend an individual review together with your security officer.
Can ZMI also map complex collective agreements and special regulations?
Yes, ZMI can be flexibly adapted to various sets of rules: Whether production in the brewery, warehouse or field service – our solution allows the configuration of individual time models, supplements and special collective agreements. This means that your time tracking system can cope with the special features of breweries with changing shifts and employees in different areas.
How do we keep track of different departments?
In brewery operations with administration, production, logistics and field service, ZMI offers clear dashboards, evaluations and client, department and role separation. Each department only sees the data relevant to it, while management can immediately see how working times, absences, order and project times as well as times on cost centers, shifts or access are distributed across all areas.
