Elfershausen, 28.05.2018 – The digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises is in full swing. This is predominantly accompanied by a change and flexibilization of work in companies. As a recent empirical study by Crisp Research AG and Telekom Deutschland GmbH revealed, the majority of companies are currently developing concepts for a new working model. This is a challenge that modern HR software must also address and take into account. For ZMI GmbH, the latest release 6.3 is therefore all about the changes brought about by Work 4.0.
The managing partner of ZMI, Daniel Vogler, sees a whole bundle of trends here that have a massive influence, for example on the area of personnel time recording: “If the process design changes across the company in the course of digitization, the HR area is by no means left out. The trend towards web-based self-services for employees and management has been apparent for some time, and has now been noticeably reinforced by the increasing flexibility of workplaces. Location-independent working models such as home office arrangements have also led to a sharp rise in demand for mobile apps for employees.”
Another challenge in this context is to always have an up-to-date overview of the availability of all employees, regardless of their current place of work. With a web-based status table, ZMI offers an information tool with real-time data that can also be transferred to third-party systems via an interface. For example, the attendance status of employees from the personnel time recording system can be displayed directly in the telephone system.
Work 4.0 is bringing about a fundamental change not only in the service sector, but also in production. Trends such as autonomous production and robots with artificial intelligence, as well as increased cost pressure in high-wage countries, will lead to significantly higher data requirements in the medium term. ZMI – Analysis provides companies with a tool that can be used to implement data-based personnel development with regard to personnel requirements, costs and qualifications.
However, the work concepts of tomorrow also reach their limits when constant availability jeopardizes good work results and balance. “In order to take into account the needs of employees in terms of a good work-life balance, we have also implemented functions in our current release that can be used to bundle the flow of information during working hours. For example, push notifications in the ZMI – App can be deactivated centrally during employees’ free time in order to effectively limit constant availability,” explains Steffen Berger, Managing Partner of ZMI.
ZMI has developed into a leading solution provider for HR, organization and security. The portfolio includes industry-neutral software, hardware terminals and mobile apps for personnel time recording, digital personnel files, access control, workflow management, order time recording, staff scheduling, merchandise management and customer relationship management (CRM). All applications are available as cloud solutions(SaaS) and on-premises.
The company was founded in 1996 and today has more than 30 employees. ZMI already serves over 1,200 customers in the DACH region from all sectors and company sizes from 3 to more than 13,000 employees. In addition to the company headquarters in Elfershausen, ZMI GmbH has branches in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Munich, Stuttgart and Vienna.
